Taylor is one of our rock star brewers at FCB. His love of home brewing brought him to Fort Collins Brewery where he started out as an intern, jumping in on the packing line, cleaning kegs, floor drains and grain pipes. Eventually, Taylor worked his way up to brewing. Taylor first brewed Oktoberfest using the brewery’s pilot brew system which led to a GABF® gold medal for Oktoberfest in the Dortmunder/German-Style Oktoberfest category in 2015.

Catching up with Taylor

You are about to be cast off to a remote island and you can only bring three brews. Name them:

Avery Old Jubilation, Epic’s Big Bad Baptist, Upslope’s Craft Lager. I’m definitely more into malt forward beers, I’m not a huge hop head.

What aspect of your job do you love?

I love working with all of the mechanical equipment that we have (99% of the time). The 1% I don’t like is when equipment malfunctions. I enjoy being able to work in several different areas and contribute to them in a real way. Not just one cog in the machine

What is your hidden talent?

I can bust out an origami crane in no time flat

What gets you really excited?

Learning! If I were a cat, I would be killed many times from my curiosity. A lot of mechanical things…
